Pretec's CompactModem is the world's first and smallest Data/Fax Modem Card for PocketPC-based and other PDAs. By adding an inexpensive CompactFlash Type I adapter, the card becomes a full-fledged PC modem card that can be used with most notebook computers and instruments that have a PC Card slot. This modem card is base on K56flex technology, supports the ITU-T V.90 standard, and provides up to 56Kbps data transfer rates using standard analog phone lines. Pretec's CompactModem supports the V.80 application interface and is capable of operating with any H.324 Video Phone system, thereby providing affordable videoconferencing over standard telephone lines. The CompactModem supports DOS, Windows, and PocketPC systems.
